This isn’t the first time I’ve attempted to have a blog. In the past attempts I’ve tried to do this it never worked out, because I didn’t mentally go into it the way I should have. With every hobby you do, you have to decide if it’ll be taken seriously or strictly for fun. It’s sounds super simple, but it is a decision that needs to be made for someone like me. The thought of building a successful platform was thrown out the window years ago. Don’t get me wrong, it would be awesome to gain readers and followers for something I enjoy doing, but it won’t be the thing to make or break me.

About writing…

I think as humans we don’t live forever, we just want our memory to. We want to leave something behind for those who come after us. As of this moment on I will only be doing content that makes me happy, and gives me peace. I decided on avoiding the “traditional” route for my books/stories because time is short. The traditional route of publishing isn’t for everyone. It’s not for the faint of heart, or those who do not do well with creative deadlines (me). For my more serious work I will be hiring an editor to look at my manuscripts, but as for my smaller projects I will handle those myself.

About reading…

The last couple of years I’ve been struggling with being an avid reader. I still love learning about books and the publishing world, but when it comes to sitting down and reading a book (yikes). It becomes a case where I have to force myself to sit down and read. Half the time I lose interest, the other half I’m grateful I did it. I guess the world is just overstimulating right now. I want to do everything. I want to project work, I want to play games, I want to watch tv shows. There’s more than just reading in my life, and I guess I’m having a hard time coming to terms with that. Hopefully over the course of having this blog I’ll be able to work on reading more. After all, the greatest writers are also the greatest readers. If I don’t want my writing to suck, practice will only get me so far. I need to keep reading as well.

About the other stuff…

It’s my goal for this blog to have more than just reading and writing. As I said before, there’s more to me than that. I also play games, watch tv shows, have adventures with my squad, I’m a wife, big sister, and a witch! Mental health is also going to be a topic I talk about frequently, since it has a huge affect on life in general. I’m looking forward to this blogging journey, and I hope you’ll stick around to see what’s coming. My next post will be live tomorrow morning! Stop by again to read Change: Moving to a New Place!
