Reading Goals for 2020

Reading One Book a Week

2020 is the year I want to read more books than before. I want to discard the “reading plan” of last year of “reading when I feel like it”. All I have to do is finish reading one book a week. That’s it. If I want to read more, then sure! I’m not going to stop myself. This forces me to prioritize reading, rather than spending most of my time watching tv shows, and playing games. I can still do those things, but after I finish my book for the week. The more I read, the better writer I’ll become as well. There are books in my physical TBR that have been gathering dust for years now. I’m sick of looking at them, and storing them when they haven’t earned a spot on my favorites shelf. This reading goal will help me reign in that physical TBR. I also have ebooks I plan to read as well, but I’m not focusing on digital clutter this year.

My Stand Alone Goals/Interests

  1. Again, but Better by Christine Riccio
  2. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
  3. The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
  4. The Dangerous Art of Blending In by Angelo Surmelis
  5. Love & Other Train Wrecks by Leah Konen
  6. Sunfish by Shelby Eileen
  7. Never Contented Things by Sarah Porter

My Completed Series Goals/Interests

  1. [FINISH] the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
  2. The Falconer series by Elizabeth May
  3. The Cruel Prince series by Holly Black
  4. [FINISH] The Dragori trilogy by Ben Alderson
  5. Starbound trilogy by Meagan Spooner & Amie Kaufman
  6. The Scythe trilogy by Neil Shusterman
  7. Whims of Fae series by Nissa Leder

I’m considering reading the Hunger Games, and only because one of my friends really loved the books. The series never interested me, but I heard there was a fake dating trope. 2020 is going to be a series driven reading year. I’m hoping to stick with my reading goal of one book a week. It makes me both a better reader and writer when I keep up with my reading goals.
